Mitch McKinzey, PSP, VP Technology, Silicon Hills Associates Inc., brings over twenty five years experience in low voltage electronic systems including security (access control, point monitoring, closed circuit television), burglar alarm, fiber optics, intercom and sound.

Mr. McKinzey began his career working as an Electrician where he gained valuable experience with the installation of various electrical systems, control circuits and electrical cabling and devices.  He started his work in the security field while employed as an Installation Technician for B-Alert, a light commercial and residential security systems installation company. 

In 1988, Mr. McKinzey was hired as a Project Manager for JWP Electronic Systems/Maris Equipment Company/Security Technologies Group.  During his employment with the company, he held positions of Senior Project Manager and Director of Technical Applications where he demonstrated extensive knowledge in all facets of the security industry including customer surveys, pre-sales design and engineering, equipment evaluations and selection, estimating, sales, project management, installation, maintenance and service.  While working with the company Mr. McKinzey was responsible for the successful installation of many large integrated systems including: The Texas State Capital Complex, Advanced Micro Devices, Motorola, Austin Convention Center, The Governor’s Mansion, Dial Corporation, Teacher’s Retirement System and Dell Computers to name a few. 

While working as Physical Security Manger for a large manufacturer, Mr. McKinzey gained invaluable experience working as the end-user.  There he was responsible for identifying threats, developing plans to counter threats, establishing security budgets, writing specifications for soliciting bids, pre-screening perspective bidders, selecting contractors, monitoring and coordinating construction activities, final acceptance testing, commissioning the new systems and training security staff. 

Mr. McKinzey’s most recent position of Senior Applications/Sales Engineer with ISR Solutions allowed him to keep current with the most recent security technology available on the market.  Mr. McKinzey enjoys keeping abreast of technology and this has allowed him to develop a keen eye for new emerging technology solutions.

Mr. McKinzey is a State Licensed Journeyman Electrician, Security Consultant and also holds the distinguished certification of Physical Security Professional, PSP.
